Why should you request this service?

What is the purpose of this analysis?

>
  • To discover the genetic burden of these common multifactorial diseases and relate them to your environmental factors.

  • To learn more about the mechanisms responsible for obesity, diabetes or cardiovascular disease in each case in order to offer you adapted and personalized treatments.

  • So that you can take preventive measures and protect your family in case of risk.

Should you do it?

>
  • You have a family history about CARDIOMETABOLIC syndrome

  • You suffer from CARDIOMETABOLIC syndrome

    • You have abdominal obesity with or without metabolic syndrome.

    • You have the metabolic syndrome: hypertension, dyslipidemia (high cholesterol or triglycerides). High uric acid, heart disease (heart attack, angina pectoris) and / or cerebrovascular accident, ischemia, etc.

    • Fatty liver.

    • You have high blood pressure or isolated atherosclerosis.

    • You have one or more members in your family who have had high blood pressure or atherosclerosis.

    • Sleep apnea (use of CEPAP type machines).

  • You want to improve your lifestyle and avoid diseases development.

  • What are the genes studied and what does it mean?>
GEN OMIM or reference FUNCTION RELATED DISEASE AND GENE TYPE
PPARG 601487 The ancestral gene is not suitable for contemporary foods such as refined foods (flours and sugars) or processed and saturated fats that promote fat formation and insulin resistance. This gene also complicates the burning of calories. In addition, this gene is the main target of one of the antidiabetic drugs, a good knowledge of this gene allows a personalized treatment CARDIOMETABOLIC SYNDROME: ECONOMIC GENES
FABP2 134640 It allows a better absorption of dietary fat in the intestine and alters its oxidation, promoting insulin resistance and increasing the risk of atherosclerosis.
IRS1 147545 It causes insulin resistance and therefore a high risk of diabetes because it directly affects the insulin receptor.
APOE 107741 It slows the elimination of fats from food ingested in the blood, causing atherosclerosis and secondary vascular disease
NOS3 163729 It slows the elimination of fats from food ingested in the blood, causing atherosclerosis and secondary vascular disease
      MTHFR 607093
      188050
It regulates the levels of folic acid (one of the B vitamins), since the deficiency of this nutrient causes thrombosis, vascular embolism and cardiovascular diseases.
ACE 106180 This gene regulates blood pressure through the level of sodium in the kidneys and also promotes fat formation, so salt intake not only promotes hypertension, it also causes overweight and obesity.
SERPINE1 173360 It is associated with two mechanisms that promote the development of acute myocardial infarction: the formation of atherosclerotic plaques and the weakening of clot destruction mechanisms.
  • How to interpret the results?>

Ten genes associated with the cardiometabolic syndrome and involved in the nutritional response of the patient are analyzed.

      • Genes involved in the development of insulin resistance
      • Genes associated with cardiovascular and cardiometabolic risk

The polymorphisms analyzed are variants of normality, so the result of this study should not be considered as a diagnosis, but rather as an indicator of genetic risk. The results obtained in the patient can be interpreted as follows:

elige tu test genético The report details the genotype detected for each gene, as well as its medical interpretation. The results are accompanied by personalized recommendations according to the genetic results
  • Sensitivity and Specificity>

The analysis of this gene is carried out using the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) technique. Moreover, the results are studied by direct sequencing and subsequent capillary electrophoresis. These molecular biology techniques are commonly used in the field of molecular genetics and exhibit high sensitivity and specificity when using specific primers for each analyzed polymorphism. The reliability of our genetic studies is close to 100%, we apply quality processes certified by competent national and international organizations.
