Starting on December 3, the new requirements to travel from Spain to Ireland come into force, which includes taking a Covid-19 detection test even if I am fully vaccinated.
Through the official website of the Government of Ireland (https://www.gov.ie/) they explained that depending on whether I have a European certificate of complete vaccination or post-covid recovery, I will be able to present an RT-PCR or antigens:
If I am fully vaccinated
In this case, I must present the following documents when boarding:
- Certificate of vaccination or post-covid-19 recovery.
- A rapid antigen test was carried out a maximum of 48 hours before I arrived in Ireland, or an RT-PCR test was carried out a maximum of 72 hours before my arrival.
- Passenger Location Form (PLF)
If I am not vaccinated against covid-19 nor do I have proof of recovery
In this case, I must present the following documents when boarding:
- An RT-PCR test was performed not more than 72 hours before I arrived in Ireland, the rapid antigen test for people not vaccinated against Covid-19 is not valid.

Should I quarantine when I arrive in Ireland?
Currently, Ireland has put up a list of countries, from which you can only travel for essential reasons:
- Botswana
- Eswatini
- Lesotho
- Mozambique
- Namibia
- South Africa
- Zimbabwe
In case you have been in any of these countries for the last 14 days, then you will have to be quarantined upon your arrival.
If I come from any other destination, no.
All tests carried out to enter Ireland must be done in accredited laboratories. Self-tests are not accepted for travel.
