Traveling from Spain to the Netherlands without a covid vaccination, you should be aware that there are currently related requirements that you will need to meet. Below we explain how you can travel if you do not have your full vaccination schedule, are not vaccinated at all and how to obtain the European Covid-19 certificate, or if the one you have has already expired.
In our post “Booster doses for full vaccination schedule” we explained that since February 1st, the European Community has issued an instruction on the length of validity of the European Covid Certificate, which is currently 270 days.

In this case your covid certificate would not be valid for travel, you will have to present a RT-PCR test performed maximum 72 hours prior to travel, and in addition a rapid antigen test performed maximum 24 hours prior to your boarding time.
It is important to clarify that if you take the test in a private laboratory, you should request the certificate of your result in the EU format, as the PDF file provided is not sufficient on its own. For single-dose vaccines, the certificate is valid 14 days after receipt of the single dose. Likewise, for multi-dose vaccines, 14 days after the last dose. In both cases, the third dose or booster can be chosen, and 14 days must also elapse for it to be valid.

I am not vaccinated at all
In this case the person can access the Netherlands as long as an RT-PCR or antigen test, which meets the same guarantees as the European Covid Certificate, is available. The times are the same:
- RT-PCR 72 hours maximum
- Rapid antigen test 24 hours maximum

They should count the time of boarding to calculate when they need to take the test.
