What is gonorrhea?
Gonorrhea is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. According to the World Health Organization in 2020 alone there were millions of new cases. It is characterized by inflammation and swelling of the urinary tract, genitals, throat and rectum. Studies indicate that it spreads mostly through oral sex.
In addition, of all diseases of a sexual nature, it is the most resistant to antibiotics. It can be transmitted from a pregnant woman to her fetus and can be suffered more than once.
It is crucial to remember that sometimes it is an asymptomatic disease: it develops silently, without showing any signs. If you had sexual intercourse without the use of prophylactic/condom, you have to check that you have not contracted it.
