We explain the requirements for traveling to Ecuador from Spain. Due to the coronavirus (covid-19), the country requires all travelers arriving at their destination to present an RT-PCR test, in addition to their full vaccination schedule.
The rules for entering the Galapagos Islands, one of the main tourist destinations in this country, are the same; this is why the RT-PCR test duration must be carefully calculated. The validity time is counted from the moment the sample is taken.

Requirements for traveling to Ecuador from Spain as a tourist
Spanish citizens do not need a visa to travel to Ecuador; they can stay in the country for up to 90 days, extendable to 180 days on presentation of the proper documentation. This is stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. Below is a list of all the requirements:
- A full course of vaccination, at least 14 days after the last dose.
- RT-PCR test done maximum 72 hours prior to boarding your flight.
- Passport valid for more than 6 months.
- Passenger Health Form, which is available here.
Minors, aged 2 to 15 years, vaccinated and unvaccinated, must present a negative RT-PCR test, performed no more than 72 hours prior to travel.
