It is the test that tells you if you have antibodies to certain diseases, the development of these in your body is what allows you to fight viruses and infections. Antibodies can be generated after having passed the virus or through vaccines.
Serology tests are done from a blood sample, depending on how specific you need the result to be, it may be a self-test or you must perform it in a microbiology laboratory.
The last option will be able to tell you:
- If you have passed the virus and have developed antibodies.
- If the vaccine that you have been given against a certain disease has been effective.
- If the antibodies they have come from a vaccination or from having passed the disease.
All these data are obtained by analyzing the amount of antibodies in your body, what type they are, and many more factors, on which the corresponding health professionals are specialized.
