Triple Viral Vaccine

Also known as the triple viral vaccine, it is part of the vaccination schedule for children between 12-15 months of age. The viruses against which it creates immunity are:

  • Measles: It is a disease that produces lesions on the skin, in the form of a rash and redness.
  • Mumps: It is an infection that mainly attacks the salivary glands, which in turn are near the ears. This produces pain and discomfort for the affected person.
  • Rubella: Causes mild symptoms of fever, nausea and in some cases transient rashes. It tends to be more common in children.

The single dose of this vaccine provides lifetime immunity to whoever receives it. That is, a booster dose is not necessary.
